Aluminium Round Tube Profiles Manufacturer – SNALCO

Aluminium Extrusion Round Tube Profile

Aluminium Round Tube Profiles Manufacturer

Aluminium round tube or pipe is used in a lot of structural applications. It is also popular in the transportation industry (like bicycle frames) due to its lightweight. It is measured by initially taking the outside diameter and then the wall thickness. We offer a wide range of aluminium round tube/pipe with a variety of alloys, sizes and finishes. Moreover, all of our round aluminium tubes can also be cut to different sizes in case the existing products cannot meet your personal needs.

As a professional aluminium extrusion factory, Snalco provides precise cutting to length and diverse processing services with the fastest lead time.

Round tube and pipe, sized by outside diameter and wall

Aluminium (aluminum) round tube is described by its outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness, both in mm. The Indian trade also calls it aluminium pipe. It is a favourite for frames, rails, bicycle and light vehicle parts, and any structure where low weight matters.

Quick answer A 50 mm OD tube with a 3 mm wall weighs about 1.20 kg per metre. Snalco extrudes round tube in 6063 and 6061 and cuts it to length.

Tube or pipe: what is the difference?

In metals trade, tube is sized by outside diameter and wall, and tolerance on dimensions is tight. Pipe is sized by nominal bore and carries fluids. Many Indian buyers use the words interchangeably when they mean a hollow round section for structure. Tell us which dimension matters most, OD or bore, and we quote to that.

Where round tube is used

  • Handrails, grab rails and balustrades
  • Furniture frames, racks and stands
  • Tubular bus bars and electrical enclosures (alloy to be agreed)
  • Vehicle and trailer fittings
  • Agricultural and irrigation frames
  • Poles, masts and light structures

Why Snalco

  • Own extrusion plant at Kosamba, Surat, built around a 1600 UST four-column hydraulic press that handles 6 inch and 7 inch billets.
  • Billets are cast in-house on an imported Hot Top casting table, so alloy chemistry is controlled from the melt and not bought in blind.
  • A working quality lab: spectrometer for chemistry, UTS machine, Rockwell and Brinell hardness testers, conductivity meter, metallurgical microscope and a profile projector for dimensions.
  • An in-house tool shop, so new dies and die corrections do not wait on an outside vendor.

How to order

  • Section and size: dimensions in mm, wall thickness, and the profile number or drawing.
  • Alloy and temper: for example 6063-T5, or 6061-T6 where more strength is needed.
  • Basis of size: outside diameter or inside diameter, plus tolerance if tight.
  • Finish: mill finish, anodised, powder coated or another finish from the list above.
  • Length and quantity: cut lengths in mm or full mill lengths, and the total weight or number of pieces.
  • Delivery point: a city in India or an export port, so freight and packing can be quoted.

Frequently asked questions

How is aluminium round tube measured?

By outside diameter and wall thickness in mm. A 38 x 2.5 tube has a 38 mm OD and a 2.5 mm wall, so the bore is 33 mm.

How do I find the weight of an aluminium pipe?

Multiply the wall area by 0.0027 to get kg per metre. Wall area = pi/4 x (OD squared minus ID squared).

What is aluminium pipe price per kg?

It depends on the metal rate, alloy, wall, finish and order size. Send your list and tonnage for a current quote.

Can aluminum round tube be anodised?

Yes. Anodised and powder coated finishes are available, along with polishing.

Do you supply drawn tube?

Snalco supplies extruded tube. For drawn or special precision tube, send the requirement and we will advise.

Can you cut tube to length?

Yes, along with drilling, punching and bending.
